DEPARTMENT 4-H SCHOOL ENRICHMENT
These county fair classes are for youth who have participated in a program conducted by Extension Staff during school time. These are called 4-H School Enrichment projects. An example of a common 4-H School Enrichment project is Green Food Factory. This is the project where students make a loaf of whole wheat bread, while learning about how wheat grows, the nutritional value of whole grains, the parts of a wheat kernel, and how yeast works in bread. Another common school enrichment project is Embryology in the classroom.
4-H entries must be made according to the printed 2026 Custer County Fair Premium Book and entered online by 5:00 p.m. on June 26. Instructions for online entries will be emailed to 4-H families on approximately May 15. Entries will be interview judged on Wednesday, July 22, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the 4-H Building on the Custer County Fairgrounds in Broken Bow. Entries must be picked up at the fairgrounds on Thursday, July 30 between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. Youth who are not 4-H members, but participated in a 4-H School Enrichment project, must contact the Extension Office prior to June 26 in get their entry submitted online. Questions concerning 4-H School Enrichment entries may be directed to the Nebraska Extension-Custer County Office, (308) 872-6831. Entries not eligible for State Fair. One entry per class.

DEPARTMENT JUNE JAMBOREE
These county fair classes are for youth who have participated in a 2026 June Jamboree program. These are special programs conducted by Extension Staff during the month of June. Clover Kids must enter the Clover Kids June Jamboree-For Clover Kids Only classes in the Clover Kid section of the premium book.
4-H entries must be made according to the printed 2026 Custer County Fair Premium Book and entered online by 5:00 p.m. on June 26. DEPARTMENT 4-H FLOP EXHIBIT
Entries will be interview judged on Wednesday, July 22, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the 4-H Building on the Custer County Fairgrounds in Broken Bow. 4-H’ers will sign up for this exhibit the day of the interview judging. Do not enter the 4-H Flop Exhibit in the ShoWorks program. Entry tags will be created on the day of judging. Entries not eligible for State Fair.
Any 4-H member may enter this class, with the exception of Clover Kids. One entry per member.
The 4-H member's name, address, age, full address, and county must be listed on the back of the entry.

CLASS F970001 FLOP EXHIBIT - Exhibit will display a project that didn’t turn out the way the 4-H member wanted it to or had some kind of a significant mishap. The focus on the judging will be on what was learned through the process and not the end product. Include a description of what happened, what you learned from it, and what could have been done differently for a better outcome. A picture display with details clearly identifying what happened will be acceptable too.
