2023 WASHINGTON COUNTY 4-H ARCHERY COMPETITIONS:

In order to compete in the 4-H Archery Contests listed below, 4-H Archery Club members are required to have participated in at least ONE meeting/practice and demonstrated safe archery skills. 

DRESS CODE for INDOOR SHOOT & WASHINGTON COUNTY FAIR:

  • Exhibitors are required to wear a white shirt or blouse with the official 4-H chevron attached or a 4-H T-shirt.
  • Long jeans/pants are required for the competition.
  • While hard-soled shoes are not required for the contest, competitors must wear closed-toed shoes with non-slip soles.
  • Chevrons and t-shirts are available for purchase at the Nebraska Extension in Washington County Office in Blair.
  • Failure to comply with the dress code will result in the drop of a ribbon placing.

Brandon Tomcak Memorial 3-D Shoot Contest – Sunday, June 4 

This contest is shot at foam-like animals, and the animals may be placed at either a known distance or an unknown distance from the shooting line. This event is held in conjunction with the

Orion Archery Club.

AGE: Youth 8-18 years old on January 1, 2023

Age groups and shooting distances will follow the 3D rules, not Washington County 4-H Designations.

DATE/LOCATION: Sunday, June 5 / Golden Arrow Outdoor Range, 9100 Pawnee Rd, Omaha

REGISTRATION: at Contest Check-in

DRESS CODE: 4-H members are encouraged to follow the 4-H dress code.

PREMIUMS:  Provided by the Washington County 4-H Archery Club

Washington County Fair 4-H Archery Contest – Saturday, July 22

This event is a paper-target competition and is held as part of the Washington County Fair.

AGE: Youth 8-18 years old on January 1, 2023

DATE: Saturday, July 22 (FLIGHTS – 9 a.m. /10 a.m./11 a.m.*subject to change)

LOCATION: Washington County Fairgrounds, Arlington

REGISTRATION REQUIRED DEADLINE: Monday, July 10 at 5:00 p.m., Nebraska Extension Office, Blair

DRESS CODE:  4-H members are required to follow the 4-H dress code.

AWARDS: Provided by Washington County 4-H Council

PREMIUMS:  Provided by the Washington County Fair Board

Washington County Fair BB Gun Contest, July 22

The judge will score each card after each shooter has shot in each position. The total score will be tallied after all shooters have completed all FOUR positions. 

AGE: Youth 8-18 years old on January 1, 2023
