4-H Ambassador Program

The purpose of the Washington County 4-H Ambassador Program is to develop leadership skills and build communication skills to be utilized when advocating for the Washington County 4-H Program, as well as other aspects of the Ambassador's life.


YOUTH RECEIVE:

  • Increased understanding of their leadership styles, skills, and abilities.
  • Increased confidence in public speaking and interactions.
  • In-depth understanding of the Washington County 4-H Program.

PROGRAM INFORMATION:

  • Age Requirement:
    • Junior Program | 13-15 years as of 1/1 of current 4-H year.
    • Senior Program | 16-18 years as of 1/1 of current 4-H year.
  • Fulfillment of Duties:
    • Service as a Washington County 4-H Ambassador includes a scholarship (amount dependent on program) sponsored by the Washington County 4-H Council. To receive this scholarship, a set of pre-determined responsibilities must be fulfilled within the program year.

  • Program Year Timeline
    • September 30: Applications Due
    • October/November: Ambassador Team Announced (@ Achievement Celebration)
    • November - May: Monthly Team Meetings
    • April: Statewide In-person Training (@ UNL Campus)
    • June - July: Summer Programming
    • August: Summer Programming, Fulfillment of Duties due
