4-H Achievement Celebration

The Annual 4-H Achievement Celebration was held on Sunday, February 4th, 2024 at the Norm Waitt YMCA. Close to 70 youth and adults were in attendance from Dakota and Dixon County. Families enjoyed pizza, treats and swimming. Youth that had submitted Award Applications were given packets with their awards and scoresheets. Youth received certificates, discs for there award plaques and a cash award.

We are excited to announce the fourth year of the Nebraska 4-H Livestock Achievement Program. This additional opportunity for enrolled livestock project youth, is designed to promote all educational aspects of 4-H livestock projects including selection, production, leadership, and exhibition by recognizing youth striving to improve in their livestock project knowledge and leadership.  

Livestock Quality assurance is required for all 4-H exhibitors that will be showing a meat animal (beef, sheep, goat, swine, rabbit and poultry) at county fair, state fair and Ak-Sar-Ben.    YOUTH FOR THE QUALITY CARE OF ANIMALS.    Register for the classes at yqca.learngrow.io

Livestock Affidavits or ID Sheets are due to the extension office by JUNE 15TH. for all beef, sheep, goat, swine, horse and rabbit projects.  In addition to ID sheets your animals may need ear tags, or tattoo's.  Please refer to Fairbook for further information or contact the Extension Office.
