Open Class Flowers

Entry times will be Tuesday of fair between 6 and 8 pm and on Wednesday of fair between 8 - 11 am.
Flower entries open to York and surrounding counties. Flowers should be entered in a clear glass container of an appropriate size for the entry. We will not accept flowers in foam or plastic cups. Entries must be well groomed and should consist of some foliage as well as the flower. The health and vigor of a plant shows in the foliage as well as the flower. Each entry should be in the same color (i.e. 3 zinnia stems all red; not 1 red, 1 orange, and 1 yellow).
Entries must be grown by the exhibitor in his/her own garden or yard. Exhibitor can only enter one exhibit per class. Should any flowers be entered in the incorrect class and the error is discovered prior to judging, the superintendent may make proper correction in the entry. Arrangements and mixed bouquets will be judged on quality, freshness and containers.
A champion and reserve champion will be named in each of the Flower areas Annuals & Perennials, Arrangements Cut Flowers, and Other, each will receive $5 extra premium. One Best of Show will be named in Open Class Flowers.
