Bicycle Rodeo

Pay Code 220

                    All entries must be pre-entered by the first Friday of July at the Extension Office.

                    Bicycle helmets will be required to be worn by all participants in the Bicycle Rodeo. Clover kids must be able to ride without training wheels.

Casting Contest

Pay Code 220

                    All entries must be pre-entered by the first Friday of July at the Extension Office.

                    The object of this contest is to place the bait/lure where you think the fish are. Plugs will be provided.  Contestants must use their own rod and reel. No hooks attached when brought to the fair. There will be three stations.  They are:

1. standing, aiming for a target

2. sitting (like in a boat) aiming for a target

3. target with an obstruction (like a tree). 

Participants will cast three times at each station.

Coffee Can Ice Cream Contest

Pay Code 220

All entries must be pre-entered by the first Friday of July at the Extension Office.

               All 4-H youth are eligible to participate in the Coffee Can Ice Cream Contest. Clover kids can participate individually or as a team with another clover kid. 4-H Youth may participate individually or as a team of two if participating as a team youths division will be determined by oldest member’s age. Participants are required to bring their own ingredients and supplies other than ice, salt will be provided. If you would like a recipe, they are available at the Extension Office.

Livestock Judging Contest

                    The livestock judging contest will be held on Saturday of the county fair. Participants do not need to be enrolled in the project to be judged in the contest.

 

F500950 – Clover Kid Division 5-7 years

F500951 - Junior Division 8-10 years

F500952 - Intermediate Division 11-13 years

F500953 - Senior Division 14-18 years

 

Meat Goat Fitting Contest

                    The York County Meat Goat Fitting Contest is open to individual 4-H / FFA members enrolled in the meat goat projects for the current year. Contestants will be scored in their ability to prepare/groom a meat goat animal for show ring competition.

Contest rules:

  1. Open to any York County Fair Meat Goat Exhibitor between the ages of 8 and 18 years.
  2. All participants must be enrolled in York County 4-H. 
  3. A team must consist of at least one meat goat exhibitor and the animal must be owned by a team member.
  4. The contestant must provide their own animal, equipment and grooming materials.
  5. The animal is to be completely clean and dry at the start of the competition. 

Contestants will be judged on:

  • Quality of workmanship
  • Organization of work and demonstration of skills
  • Compatibility of equipment, materials, and skills.

More contest rules/regulations will be provided at the time entry forms are due on the first Friday in July.
