4-H Clover Kids can enter general, non-specific exhibits during the fair. All that is needed for the General Pre-entry forms (due the first Friday in July to the York County Extension Office) is “Clover Kid General” and any additional pre-fair contests they plan to enter (see Pre-Fair Contest section). Check-in time for Clover Kid Static Exhibits is Tuesday, August 4th from 6 – 8 pm in the Home Ec. Building. Judging for entries includes a short interview with a high school 4-H member to share about their projects and what they learned. Exhibits will be displayed during fair and then must be picked up during project release time following the fair on Sunday.
Projects entered by Clover Kids can range widely from art projects created in class or youth group programs, club projects, items made during workshops, baking projects, or any projects derived from 4-H projects listed in this Fairbook (but adapted towards Clover Kid’s ability level). There is no necessary documentation needed with projects unless Clover Kid, and family, desire to do so. The Clover Kid program is designed to introduce youth to projects, or areas, they may have interest in during their 4-H years. Youth are encouraged to explore areas that are excited and interesting to them without the extra documentation for judging and evaluation. All sorts of projects are allowed for judging, if they adhere to the 4-H Code of Conduct and County Fair guidelines (ex. no weapons, no mention of drugs or alcohol, etc.). Please see example list below for project ideas.
