General Rules

                    All entries must to be pre-registered at the Extension Office by the first Friday in July.

                    Entry Day will be Tuesday of the fair between 6-8 p.m. or on Wednesday, from 8-10:30 a.m. for Agricultural Mechanics, Crops, Horticultural entries.  All entries in this department are limited to boys and girls who are enrolled in FFA in York County.  Members must be enrolled in the project in which they exhibit.  Where FFA age is specified, it is the age on January 1 of the current year.  Maximum age for exhibitors in will be 19.  For entries selected for State Fair competition that do not require the exhibitor to accompany the entry, the exhibitor can be any FFA age.  FFA exhibitors are any student who is regularly enrolled in a secondary agricultural education program is entitled to become an active member of his or her locally chartered chapter.  Secondary agricultural programs shall be defined as those programs provided to students in grades 7-12. To retain active membership during junior and/or high school, the member must: Be enrolled in at least one ag education course during the school year and/or follow a planned course of study for an ag education occupation which includes a supervised agricultural experience program, the objective of which is preparation for an agricultural career.

                    All livestock exhibitors must clean out their pens and move the bedding to the dump area.  Premiums will not be paid until this requirement has been met.

                    Purple awards denote superior; blue, excellent; red, good; and white, fair.  Equal prizes will be given the same color awards under the same class.  Rosettes and large ribbons will not be awarded. To be eligible for Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, Champion or Reserve Champion an entry must have received a purple in its respective class.  The judges decisions will be final.
