                    Entry times will be Tuesday of fair from 6 to 8 pm and on Wednesday of fair between 8 am and 11 am.  Only one entry may be made under each class number. Articles shown previously are not eligible.

                    Domestic Products open to York and surrounding counties. All products will be judged on appearance and content.  Cookies should be entered on a paper plate covered with plastic or gallon sized Ziploc bag. A champion and reserve champion will be named in Baked Products, and Preserved Products each will receive $5 extra premium.

 

Baked Products

                    All baked goods and candy should be put in zip lock plastic bags or wrapped in plastic. 

 

Bread

               One loaf, baked in single pan (about 5"x 9"), except for class 11.  Breads, except for portion retained for exhibit, will be donated to the Food Pantry unless other arrangements are made.

                    Cakes should not be brought on a plate as the curved surface spoils the shape of the cake.  Cakes should be home-made, whole and frosted unless otherwise specified. Cakes made with cake mix not eligible.  Judges decision is final.  Cakes, other than decorated cakes, may be removed after judging except portion kept for exhibit.  Please pick up before 6:00 p.m. on day of judging.

Preserved Products

Pay Category 600

                    Entry times will be Tuesday of fair from 6 to 8 pm and on Wednesday of fair between 8 am and 11 am.  Only one entry may be made under each class number. Articles shown previously are not eligible.

                    Preserved Products open to York and surrounding counties. No canned food will be opened except in case of doubt.  Jellies, preserves and butters may be opened for judging. All canned goods must be canned within the previous canning year.

                    Written processing method and time WILL be required. Write the processing method and time on the entry tag.  Also include any special information on the label which the judge should be aware of when judging the entry.  Oven methods are not acceptable.  Check with the Extension Office for proper methods and canning times.

                    Jars are to have the rings on them and proper canning jars of the Kerr, Ball or Mason variety are to be used to avoid a lower ribbon placing. Also, there should NOT be any labels of any kind on the jars, including business labels/logos.
