Meat Goats

               Meat and Breeding Goats must have identification submitted to the Extension Office by June 15. Exhibitors must have completed Quality Assurance Certification through Nebraska Extension by June 15.  All meat and breeding goats must be pre-entered on an Animal Entry Form at the York County Extension Office by the first Friday of July.

                    Each exhibitor may show up to 8 goats. All Meat goat does, registered, commercial and market, must have in place official USDA scrappie tag (part of the scrapie eradication program)

                     All goats must be in place and checked in by 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday of fair week Market and commercial breeding classes will be split by weight, determined by superintendent. Check Rule #24 for Home Raised Class eligibility.

Market Goats

                    Classes for market meat goats may be divided by weight. No re-weighing of market animals will be allowed.  Market goats may be does or wether kids only.  Short scrotum, cryptorchid and buck kids will be lowered in ribbon placing and awards. Market goats are to be shown with either a halter, smooth neck chain, smooth or pronged collars only. Check Rule #24 for Home Raised Class eligibility.
