The creation, and implementation, of new 4-H STEM programs to meet the needs of Colfax County school enrichment and afterschool programming, has increased outreach to underserved audiences by 20%.
Through the use of new 4-H robotics curricula, obtained through a partnership with Cargill Meat Solutions in Schuyler, Nebraska Extension staff have delivered STEM programming into 90% of Colfax County schools.
153 farmers and crop advisors representing 1.3 million acres attended the Soybean Management Field Day held on a cooperator’s farm north of Schuyler in 2016. Respondents indicated an average value of knowledge gained and/or practice changes of $8.90 per acre.
