Department G, Division 41 - Market Swine
Exhibitors may show any number of market swine. Market swine must have been born during the current year.
All market swine will be weighed and broken into classes by weight as determined by the swine superintendents. Swine must weigh between 230 and 330 pounds. All swine weighing less than 230 pounds will be shown in a progress pig class (including homegrown) and they are not eligible for the carcass contest. Swine weighing over 330 pounds will be shown in a past‑market class. Swine under 230 pounds or over 330 pounds are not eligible to compete for champion market barrow or gilt and may be entered in the livestock auction only if the exhibitor doesn't have any hogs in the 230‑330 pound weight range. If entered, past-market hogs must use 330 pounds as a sale weight.
Exhibitors assume all risks for introduction of any diseases into their herd as a result of taking swine home from the fair.
Also refer to General 4‑H and FFA Rules.
