ADULT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
We can also offer staff, coaches or volunteers the Essential Elements program that focuses on positive youth development. The training program provides key concepts; best practices, resources and activities that help youth have a more positive experience. This national program has been used not only in 4-H programs, but other extracurricular activities and youth service organizations.
Extension can also provide staff updates on mental health research and the “Opportunity Gap” which was conducted in 2020 by National 4-H Council and offers suggestions for schools and informal education (4-H/Extension) to work together and creating inclusivity and environments that support the “whole child”.
A training can also be conducted on the 40 Developmental Assets, which are research-based, positive experiences that help youth become caring, responsible, and productive adults.
