Ranchers who want to reduce calf loss at calving and want to learn how to properly assist cows at calving should plan to attend this workshop to be held February 25, 2021, Lincoln County Fairgrounds Ag Building starting at 5:00 PM-8:30 PM.
Topics discussed will include: "Handling Calving Difficulty with Emphasis on Decision Making", "Hows and Why of Techniques for Providing Assistance". Don't miss this! Hands-on activity with the use of the dystocia model.

Agricultural producers who have not yet enrolled in the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) or Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs for 2021 must do so by March 15. Producers who have not yet signed a 2021 enrollment contract or who want to make an election change should contact their local USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) office to make an appointment. Program enrollment for 2021 is required to participate in the programs, but elections for the 2021 crop year are optional and otherwise remain the same as elections made for 2020.

The first installment of a planned 2024 Nebraska Soil Health School series was held on April 24 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln High Plains Ag Lab in Sidney, Neb. The event addressed the semi-arid Panhandle climate and potential management practices for soil health and had over 60 attendees.
