The 4-H Fashion Show is an opportunity for 4-H members to showcase their clothing construction and consumer management skills. Construction garment exhibitors are judged on fit, construction, poise, and overall look of the garment on the individual. Shopping In Style exhibitors are judged on garment fit, the overall look of the outfit, and poise, as well as record keeping skills in the written report.
4‑H members may model more than once with different garments they constructed or created as a clothing project or purchased as a consumer education project. 4-H members are limited to 3 fashion show entries, one entry per class per exhibitor.
4‑H members are required to model in the Public Fashion Show to receive their Fashion Show ribbon and premium. If a 4‑H member cannot participate in the Public Fashion Show, the Extension staff or the Fashion Show superintendent should be notified prior to the show concerning the situation. It will be left to the discretion of the 4‑H Council and Extension Staff if the 4‑H member will receive their premium and/or awards.
All garments sewn or decorated and modeled before a judge must also be entered for construction judging.
Garments should be age appropriate.
Entries Not Accepted – Garments containing inappropriate language or images.
