Pre-register team 1 hour before event; 4-H Building
Awards: Gold & Silver Medals awarded to teams in each age division.

Ag quiz-bowl is a team event for youth where they test their knowledge of beef, sheep, swine, dairy, goats, poultry & rabbits, and ag related projects. Youth use a buzzer to answer questions and the teams compete by providing oral answers. Teams are made up of 3-4 youth. 4-H/FFA Clubs are encouraged to enter a team, but teams are not required to be made up of youth from the same club. Youth can only participate on one team. Two age divisions: Senior (4-H age 13-18) and Junior (8-12). Tournament bracket or round robin format will be determined. No premiums will be paid. Awards & prizes will be presented.

ELITE SHOWMANSHIP

Saturday, July 25, Main Livestock Barn
REGISTRATION DUE: 10:00 am, Saturday, July 25
(exception of Swine Showmanship winners who register after swine show)
CONTEST: 30 minutes following Clover Kid 
Livestock Show (not before 3 pm)
Awards: Elite Showman & Runner-up; Medals for each participant

Champion and Reserve Champion Overall Showmanship winners have the chance to compete head-to-head for Elite Showman. Champion/Reserve Champion overall showman from 4-H/FFA Beef, Sheep, Swine and Meat Goats are eligible. However, he/she may decline and the 3rd Place Showman may take his/her place in the competition.

CONTEST RULES:
- Contestants will be judged on their ability to handle, show and present each of the different species. Grooming of animals will not be considered.
- Contestants will make arrangements for animals to use during the contest. A contestant will not show their own animal.
- The judge will use a numerical scoring system to grade each individual. The contestant with the most total points at the end of the contest will be declared the winner.
- If a 4-H/FFA exhibitor wins the right to compete in more than one species in the same year, then he/she must choose which species they will represent. The 3rd Place Showman from the species not chosen will then be eligible to participate.

Market beef, hogs, sheep, and goats can be entered into the ultrasound contest. Participation in this contest is optional. A minimum live weight is required for participation in this contest: 230 lbs. for hogs, 110 lbs. for lambs, and 65 lbs. for goats. An ultrasound scanner will be used to provide personnel with information to evaluate the market back-fat, loin eye area, and percent muscling. This information will be compiled, and the results will be announced after each market show. There will be no shaving or clipping of the hair. Only market animals are eligible for the ultrasound contest.
