Program Information

Join us for hands-on learning designed especially for homeschool families!

Each session includes:

  • 4-H hands-on curriculum for designated grade levels (Kindergarten - 12th Grade)
  • Self-serve activity provided by the Library for PreK-1st Grade
  • Opportunities for siblings to learn at their level at the same time

Location: Beatrice Public Library

  • 4-H Program (2nd-12th Grade): Conference Room

4th - 5th Grade

Eggstreme Engineering

September 4 & 25

10:30 a.m. - Noon

Students will:

  • Think like engineers as they design, test, and refine solutions in this hands-on STEM program. 
  • Using eggs as the centerpiece, students explore problem-solving, teamwork, and the engineering design process while applying science and math concepts in fun, memorable ways.

1:00 - 2:30 p.m.

Students will:

  • Understand what makes a good citizen
  • Explore the federal, state, and local government & representatives
  • Discuss family heritage and cultures
  • Identify ways to serve their community

November 6 & 13

10:30 a.m. - Noon

Students will:

  • Build strong social-emotional skills while learning how to make positive, healthy choices. 
  • Spark discussion about friendships, self-control, and decision-making. 
  • Gain strategies to handle peer pressure, develop resilience, and strengthen relationships.

Students will:

  • Explore where their food comes from
  • Make connections between science and agriculture
  • Practice critical thinking while having fun.

  • Learn healthy decision-making skills with fun, hands-on activities
  • Gain skills to manage stress, peer pressure, and other risks to healthy decisions making.
  • Develop Assets related to socioemotional well-being, confidence, and contribution.
