The 4-H Horse Stampede entry portal is open!  Also, new for 2024 is the addition of elementary age group (8-10) for all contests.

Online Entry Procedures:

Entries for 2024 4-H Horse Stampede are utilizing 4-H Online.  Youth need to login to their 4-H Online account and click on the events tab, then select the 2024 Horse Stampede event. Or utilize the following link to register (be sure to utilize the same email account used when enrolling in 4-H):

Excited to announce that the 2024 Special Agronomy Project will be sugar beets!

 

We are still finalizing the Special Agronomy newsletter and other supporting pieces of information for the project. To get this in your January newsletter, below is the information for youth. The website and county order form will be updated by the end of the week. Look for another email to follow with all the information.

On January 14, Nebraska Governor Pillen declared a state of emergency in response to this winter storm. We've been monitoring needs and this response during briefings from the State Emergency Operations Center. 

 

Attached to this email is the most recent press release (January 14) from Nebraska Emergency Management Agency and Nebraska Department of Agriculture's social media graphic sharing the 1-800-831-0550 number for producers to call if they need assistance. People and communities can also reach out to their local emergency managers. Please share this phone number and graphic with your networks and on social media. I also listed a few resources below that may be helpful.

The first installment of a planned 2024 Nebraska Soil Health School series was held on April 24 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln High Plains Ag Lab in Sidney, Neb. The event addressed the semi-arid Panhandle climate and potential management practices for soil health and had over 60 attendees.
