The majority of fields visited in southern Nebraska this week had only trace levels of Fusarium head blight, but moderate to high levels of FHB were observed in susceptible varieties in a state variety trial in Red Willow County.

American Rescue Plan Act for Rural Communities

On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed into law by President Biden. ARPA provides direct relief to all 19,000 cities, towns and villages across the United States affected by COVID-19. The purpose of ARPA is to support pandemic recovery efforts, replace public sector lost revenue, spur job growth, jump start economic growth through household and business stabilization and address systemic public health and economic challenges.

Based on June 1 conditions, Nebraska's 2021 winter wheat crop is forecast at 39.8 million bushels, up 17% from last year's crop, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service.
