Nebraska Extension Partners with Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging

Nebraska Extension partnered with the Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging to deliver the required nutrition education that supports the agency’s ongoing funding. Across 11 congregate meal sites, Extension reached more than 150 older adults at each of two semi-annual sessions. Over 90% of participants reported learning useful new information and intending to make healthy changes. One attendee shared, “I’ve managed diabetes and counted my carbohydrates for years, but this was the first time I understood how important protein and other nutrients are for my overall health.”
