January 10, 2022 Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center Christenson Building Update:  

  • Employees and visitors are expected to follow the campus face covering policy.  Face coverings will be available.
  • Practice 6 feet of social distancing separation during programs and when interacting with others.
  • Hand sanitizer is available and we ask that you please utilize it when entering and leaving the center.
  • Programs require preregistration.  Walk-ins will be turned away, unless seating that permits for social distancing is available.



August 25, 2021  Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center Christenson Building Update:  

Announced Aug. 24, 2021 and going into effect Aug. 25, 2021,  the University of Nebraska–Lincoln community is required to wear masks when indoors.  This also applies to the Christenson Building at ENREEC.  The policy currently is in place through Sept. 30, 2021.



May 25, 2021 Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center Christenson Building Update:  

Please see the “Changes to Campus COVID-19 Safety Measures” message from Chancellor Ronnie Green for the May 21, 2021 update.

As in-person engagement starts to come back, we will follow university protocols, local safety expectations and directed health measures.  Those who are not vaccinated are expected to continue to wear face masks and practice social distancing.

Please continue to contact employees via email or phone.  And watch for updates on specific programs.

For programs or scheduled visits, you will need to sign in when entering the Christenson Building and also when leaving.  We will continue to provide opportunities for participants to socially distance if they wish to do so.  Hand sanitizer is also available and we ask that you please utilize it when entering and leaving the center.

If you are experiencing flu like symptoms such as fever or coughing or have recently tested positive for Covid-19, please do not enter the Christenson Building or other facilities at the center.

Please set up an appointment with the staff you wish to contact ahead of time, as limited access is available at the Christenson Building at this time.  Hand sanitizer is available and should be used upon entering and leaving the building.  Masks are required. 

June 19, 2020 - Saunders County Extension Update:  

The Saunders County Extension Office will be opening June 23, 2020.  This is ONLY Saunders County Extension, the Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center is still closed until further notification.  Updates about the opening of Saunders County Extension can be found at:  https://extension.unl.edu/statewide/saunders/.  Please cmeador2@unl.edu or call the office at 402-624-8030 with any questions or concerns.

Mar. 20, 2020 - CLOSING UPDATE:  

Beginning Friday, March 20 at 4:30 p.m., the University of Nebraska Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center, Greater Nebraska Business Center (GNBC), Husker Genetics, and the Saunders County Extension Offices will be making changes to how we serve our clientele. The August N. Christenson Building and the ENREC facilities will be closed to the general public until further notice.

Mar. 16, 2020 - EVENTS/ENGAGEMENT UPDATE:  Nebraska Extension and the research and extension centers are following University of Nebraska–Lincoln coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines for teaching classes, workshops, etc. All previously planned in-person teaching events (classes, workshops, 4-H events/meetings, etc.) at the Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center (and across Nebraska) from March 16-29 are cancelled.  However, some programs/events/training may be offered remotely instead or postponed until a later date.  Please check with your local Extension office if you have questions on availability, cancellation, or postponement of a specific program or event at ENREC.

From March 30 – May 9, all Extension and 4-H programming will be taught remotely (via teleconference or webinar).  Currently, summer programs falling after May 9 will be conducted as previously planned, but watch for updates since this is a very fluid situation.

At this time, meeting space at Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center’s August N. Christenson Building is not available for reservations until May 9.
