MUST BE CHECKED IN WITH SUPERINTENDENT during the designated time on fair schedule, not just being present on the fairgrounds.  Those not checked in will not be able to show.

Exhibitors must also enter the showmanship contest.

Sheep in the breeding class may not be shown in the market classes, similarly sheep shown in the market class may not be shown in the breeding classes.

MARKET LAMB SHOW

Rules:

  1. MINIMUM WEIGHTS FOR MARKET LAMBS: Market lambs weighing under 100 lbs. at weigh-in will not be eligible for a purple award. No re-weighs will be allowed.
  2. DEFINITION OF MARKET LAMBS: Wether and ewe lambs are eligible for market classes. Short scrotum, cryptorchid or ram lambs are not eligible as market lambs.
  3. All market lambs and breeding ewes must be identified with a scrapie tag by June 15.  Registered breeding ewes must be identified with the tag/tattoo required by the various breed associations in their ears that coincide with registration papers to comply with State Fair rules.  Exhibits mush be owned by the club member showing. 

 

DIVISION 31

  G 31 10 MARKET LAMBS (ALL BREEDS)

  Any exhibitor may exhibit three individual lambs. They may or may not be a part of the pen of three. Ewes or wethers. Separate classes may be designated by Superintendents.

  G 031 902 FEEDER LAMBS 100 lbs. or less born after Jan 1st

BREEDING EWE SHOW RULES

  AGE CLASSIFICATION OF BREEDING EWES: All breeding ewes will be mouthed for age. All ewe lambs must have all lamb or temporary teeth present; yearling ewes can have yearling teeth, but cannot have two-year old teeth up. Ewes exhibiting two-year old teeth will be allowed to show. Classes may be divided at discretion of show management.

*G 32 901 MATURE EWE, born prior to January 1 of the previous year.

*G 32 902 RAM LAMB, born in current calendar year.

*G 32 903 YEARLING RAM, born in previous calendar year.
