CONGRATS JENALEE!!!

The Nebraska 4‑H Premier Communication Event (PCE) is a two‑day state‑level competition for youth in Lincoln, NE, designed to showcase communication skills, explore industry issues, and connect with peers across the state.  This year was held at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on the East Campus on June 16 & 17, 2026.

Jenalee Garwood from Valentine competed during the event.  She received purple in Senior Prepared Speech, purple in Senior Public Service Announcement, 4th Place in Senior Illustrated Presentation, Champion in Senior Video Communications, & Champion in Senior Impromptu Speech.

Friends of 4-H

The 2026 Cherry County Friends of 4-H were honored at the Fair.  Friends of 4-H are nominated each year to recognize exemplary volunteer or business service to the Cherry County 4-H program.  Marla & Robert Shelbourn have helped with 4-H members and their horses for several years and received the Individual award. 


 

The Highway 20 Fire Departments were named as 2026 Friend in the Business division for their hard work this summer with the wildfires and continuing support of their local 4-H groups. Congratulations!!!
