- [0:01] Leadership development opportunity available
- [0:04] for northeast Nebraska residents.
- [0:06] The Institute of Excellence is a leadership development program,
- [0:09] with a focus on skills and knowledge development
- [0:11] that are directly applicable in a community and county environment.
- [0:14] The program is offered in partnership with Nebraska Extension and the
- [0:18] Nebraska Association of County Officials.
- [0:20] The Institute of Excellence is open to community members interested
- [0:23] in growing in their leadership capacities, professional development, and
- [0:27] approaches to engaging with fellow community members to
- [0:29] strengthen and grow Nebraska's towns and counties.
- [0:32] To learn more please visit go.unl.edu/NACOIOE.
- [0:40] Program enrollment closes March 6, 2023.
- [0:43] The program will run from March through September,
- [0:46] with two half-day in-person sessions and two online sessions,
- [0:49] bringing learners together every other month.
- [0:52] The in-person sessions will be held at five
- [0:54] regional sites across Nebraska, including Norfolk.
- [0:57] The March 17 session will be held in Norfolk at the Lifelong Learning Center
- [1:01] on the Northeast Community College campus.
- [1:05] For more than a decade Nebraska Extension has
- [1:07] partnered with the Nebraska Association
- [1:09] of County Officials to offer the
- [1:11] Institute of Excellence leadership development program.
- [1:13] Over this decade long collaboration more than 400 elected and appointed
- [1:17] county officials in Nebraska have grown in their leadership capacities
- [1:21] through participation in the program.
- [1:24] In 2023, this leadership experience is open to community members,
- [1:28] and county and community leaders from across the state.
- [1:32] Topics to be explored through the Institute of Excellence
- [1:35] leadership development program, include:
- [1:37] getting to know your county and region
- [1:39] through data, priority planning for community leaders,
- [1:42] adaptive leadership, leadership transition,
- [1:45] engaging stakeholders and the community
- [1:47] on county priorities and working more effectively with others.
- [1:51] The curriculum for the regional session is designed to be local, looking at data
- [1:55] for your county and community or exploring what community engagement
- [1:59] looks like or could look like in your community.
- [2:02] Content and discussion will also be shaped in part
- [2:05] by those participating in the program and the experiences they bring
- [2:08] to the table as current and emerging community leaders.
- [2:11] The Institute of Excellence seeks to grow learners
- [2:14] not only in their personal leadership capacities,
- [2:16] but in how they engage with, understand, and ultimately
- [2:19] lead others in their communities and counties across Nebraska.
- [2:22] Moreover, this will be an opportunity to learn from and network with current and
- [2:26] aspiring leaders from across the state as they too explore their work and
- [2:30] leadership to help grow and strengthen their communities, counties, and regions.
- [2:35] To learn more or enroll in the Institute of Excellence program,
- [2:39] please visit, go.unl.edu/NACOIOE.
- [2:45] Program enrollment ends March 6.
