In addition to the regular biennial custom rates services survey and report, the Center for Agricultural Profitability launched a new survey that provides data for producers and operators that work closely with the livestock industry in Nebraska.

Preliminary findings from the 2023 Nebraska Farm Real Estate Market Survey show an increase in agricultural land values and rental rates. Land industry professionals reported the rise in Nebraska agricultural land values were attributed to higher commodity prices, purchases for operation expansion, favorable financial situations for current owners and an increase in buyers acquiring land as a hedge against inflation

The February 1, 2023, Nebraska all-land average value of $3,835 per acre marks a 14% increase from the prior year. This marks the second-largest increase in the market value of agricultural land since 2014 and the highest non-inflation-adjusted statewide land value in the survey's history.
