In Person YQCA Training
As a reminder any youth that are planning on showing beef, sheep, goats, swine, dairy, poultry or rabbits at county or state fair must complete Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) training.
April 6th- Thayer County Fairgrounds 10-11:30am
May 22nd-Nuckolls County Extension Office 10-11:30am
June 12th in Hebron County Courthouse @ 10-11:30am
*AGAIN THIS YEAR. When you attend an in-person training, you will purchase your vochure online prior to the class, bring your YQCA username and password to the training. We will take a copy of your certificate before you leave the training for the June 15th deadline.
To register for the class go to https://yqcaprogram.org/ and take the pretest.
Notice of Extension Board Meeting
NOTICE: A regular meeting of the Southern Plains Extension Board will be held on
Mon. May 4th, @ 7pm
Nelson, NE-Nuckolls County Extension Office
Agenda available upon request 24 hrs prior to meeting at the Nuckolls and Thayer County Extension Offices.
Thayer County Summer 4-H Intern
We are hiring a summer 4-H intern. Are you interested in learning more about Nebraska Extension, 4-H, a future in education, and/or giving back to the youth of Thayer County?
Qualifications:
- Excellent organization
- Strong communication
- Flexibility to adapt
- Commitment to quality
Position Description:
- Have a valid driver’s license & be at least 16 years of age.
- Assist with 4-H and Extension Programming.
- Be able to use computers to complete tasks.
- Help with:
- County Fair
- Summer Reading Program
- 4-H Workshops & Contests
- This is a temporary position ideally running from May-Early Aug.
