Feb. 7, 2020 - Applications are now being accepted for the position of 4-H Extension Aide at the Nuckolls County Extension Office in Nelson. 

This position requires excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.  Strong organizational and time management skills are essential plus proficiency in computer programs including word and data processing.  Ability to teach, keep accurate records and develop curriculum is necessary.  Desire and ability to work with youth and adults in a professional and pleasant manner is required.   

This is a County funded part-time hourly position based on a 24-hour workweek.  Hourly rate is $13.25, depending on experience. No benefits are provided with this position.

First, and most foremost, do not just show up to a community that has been impacted wanting to volunteer. While volunteers are critical resources during recovery efforts, too many or being at the wrong place at the wrong time can hamper recovery activities or even put the volunteers and others at risk.

Nebraska Extension offers crop scout training in March

Lincoln, Neb. —Agricultural industry representatives and corn and soybean growers wanting to learn how to better manage corn and soybean pests should plan to attend the Nebraska Extension Crop Scout Training for Pest Managers on March 11. The workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Eastern Nebraska Research and Extension Center near Mead. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
