The Richardson County 4-H Council works as an elected board from the Richardon County 4-H community to maintain a successful 4-H program. The 4-H Council works as a whole to address changes and implement changes for the good of the entire Richardson County 4-H program. While being on the 4-H Council members work to stay informed about new changes in the State 4-H program and work to maintain relationships with 4-H families, program boosters, community stakeholders, and surrounding 4-H communities. The 4-H Coucil is comprised of eight adult members and four youth members, who are voted on at each years' 4-H/FFA Junior Fair. Adult members serve a three-year term and are eligible to serve two consecutive terms; youth members serve one, two-year term.
Other roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluate and approve 4-H events and dates
- Evaluate proposed changes to the 4-H program
- Volunteer time and service to the 4-H/FFA fair and events
- Identify and solicit boosters to support 4-H
- Identify and recruit volunteers to help with 4-H events
- Promote 4-H and positive youth development in our county
- Positively represent the 4-H program of Richardson County
