4-H is informal, practical, learn-by-doing educational program for rural and urban youth, ages 9 to 19. To be in 4-H, youth should turn 9 during the calendar year. Clovers Kids is a 4-H program for youth turning the age of 6 during the calendar year through age 8. 4-H is the youth education program for Nebraska Extension.

Platte County 4-H Jr. Camp

Jr. Camp is scheduled for June 4-6, 2025 at Whispering Cedars near Genoa. Jr. Camp is for 4-H'ers turning 9 to 12 years old during the current year and the cost is $110.00 per camper, if paid by 5:00 pm on Friday, May 2, 2025. Between May 3-8, 2025 cost increases to $135.00 per camper. 

The online registration form must be completed. Must also complete the physical Jr. Camp registration form and mail with payment to Platte County Extension Office to attend Jr. Camp. A requirement to attend Jr. Camp is to have the 4-H Participant Permission and Health form complete in 4HOnline. All three components of Jr. Camp registration is due May 2, 2025. 

CAMP COUNSELOR - We are looking for 4-H camp counselors. Candidates must be 16-18 years of as of January 1, 2025 and like to have fun, hang out outdoors, and of course follow the rules. Jr. Camp is June 4-6, 2025. Camp officially starts in the afternoon on June 4 but counselor training will begin the week before via Zoom and meet in person on the morning of June 4. Training is mandatory! If interested, please complete the online Counselor Registration and return a signed Camp Counselor Agreement to the Platte County Extension Office by May 2, 2025 deadline. CAMP SCHOLARSHIP - Did you know you can apply for a 4-H camp scholarship for either a local or statewide camp? The scholarship form is simple to complete and must be returned to the Extension Office by May 9, 2025. deadline. 

 

Clover Kid 4-H Club - Growing Clovers

The "Growing Clovers" is a 4-H club for Clover Kids, open to all youth who turn 6, 7, or 8 during the calendar year and enrolled in 4-H. Growing Clovers meet the first Monday for seven months out of the year.

YQCA (Youth for Quality Care of Animals)

 

Youth for the Quality Care of Animals is a national multi-species quality assurance program for youth. To exhibit beef, dairy, goats, sheep, swine, poultry, and rabbit at the Platte County Fair or Nebraska State Fair exhibitors must complete a YQCA training in person or online and provide a certificate to the Platte County 4-H Office by May 30, 2025 deadline.
