Babysitting Clinic

May 27, 2026

Prepare for one of the most responsible jobs in the world - caring for children. Youth will learn safety, child development, nutrition, entertaining children, and how to build a babysitting business, plus receive basic First Aid and CPR training from Beatrice Community Hospital.

9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Beatrice Community Hospital & Health Center - Conference Room

$50 Registration Fee - includes curriculum, babysitting kit, first aid kit, supplies, and lunch

Camp Renegade

June 9-10, 2026

Camp Renegade is a long-standing tradition in Gage, Jefferson and Saline Counties. During this residential camp, participants will have tons of fun with new friends swimming, canoeing, crafting, conducting science experiments, learning to shoot bb guns and archery. Meals and supplies are included.

New in 2026 - Day Camping options available. Choose to stay overnight or to come for a day (or two).

4-H Camp for youth ages 8-12 as of January 1, 2026. 4-H Membership is not required to attend.

Homesteaders 4-H Shooting Sports Club

Meets Sundays at 2:00 p.m.

Open to youth ages 9-18

Club provides all gear except safety glasses (must bring your own)

New and young shooters must have a parent to assist them.

Engineering Explorers Camp

June 2 - 4, 2026

Join us to invent, design, and create during this fun, 3-day exploration of engineering. Using everyday materials and your ingenuity, you'll create a contraption that hovers in a wind tube, protect your lunchbox, invent the ultimate desk organizer, and design helpful prosthetics for a dog. Have fun building solutions to everyday problems, creating cardboard constructions, and defying gravity!

Program fee of $25 (to be paid the first day of camp) - includes all supplies

Please bring a sack lunch.

This program is part of a University of Nebraska-Lincoln research study exploring how 4-H Educators and youth talk about engineering during 4-H activities. A researcher will be videorecording parts of the program. Camp Renegade Counselor

June 9-10, 2026

We can't do our overnight camps without great youth volunteers! We are looking for older 4-H youth who exemplify good character, who want to guide and help campers, and have strong leadership skills. Camp Counselors stay in the cabins with the campers overnight during Camp Renegade.

Youth Ages 14-18 as of January 1
