Clover Kids is a 4-H program for children ages 5 to 7-years-old as of January 1st of the current year. Clover Kids engage in hands-on activities created to help them build self-confidence and life skills. This program is designed to provide a variety of educational and recreational experiences in a non-competitive environment. Clover Kids provide an excellent opportunity for youth to achieve their highest potential because early life experiences affect future development.

General Rules There is a maximum of 12 entries per exhibitor to display in the static building. Additionally, Clover Kids may show animals and participate in public speaking, demonstration, favorite foods, and fashion show activities. All exhibits receive participation ribbons.  There is a $ 1.00 premium for each class they enter.  This is not a competitive experience. Clover Kids have the opportunity to share their experiences with judges on Tuesday evening, from 5:30-7:00 or drop off their exhibits the Wednesday morning of fair. Clover Kids MUST abide by the same rules for release time for livestock and static exhibits.

Pre-Entry for Clover Kids

Clover kids must fill out a pre-entry form with their name, age and club.  This form is turned in by June 15.  If exhibiting animals, Clover Kids need to indicate what animal(s) they are showing and whether they will stall their animal(s) at the fair.  If no box is checked on the pre-entry form, our office will assume that NO stall is needed.  Clover Kids need to check the box if they plan to participate in the Public Fashion Show. This form can be found at https://cedar.unl.edu under the Cedar County Fair & Prefair Resources tab.

Clover Kids do not need an entry tag in advance but if they wish there is an entry tag template that can be found on the fair resources page mentioned above, otherwise Clover Kids can fill out the entry tag at the fair.
