Professional Development

The Early Childhood team with Nebraska Extension provides automatically accepted in-service hours online and onsite. We offer affordable programs and training. Resources are research-based, and often the information presented is based on research from faculty right here in Nebraska. We’re here to help you take what you’ve learned from training and research and put it into practice.

Block Party

Block Party is a hands-on, engaging program for early childhood educators, families, and children. By taking time to play with a variety of blocks, educators and families will develop a better understanding of the multitude of ways children learn by playing with blocks!

Co-Parenting for Successful Kids

Co-Parenting for Successful Kids is an educational program for individuals in the process of divorce, custody modification or separation. The class is for anyone who is required to complete a mandatory parenting course. The course provides concrete steps for parents to use to help their children succeed through the process. A Spanish interpreter is available upon request.
Cost is $55. Reduced fees are available for income-eligible participants — locate application at child.unl.edu/coparenting or call to request 855-308-8037

Guardianship Information

When persons are unable to make responsible decisions about their finances, property, living situations or care because of their age, physical or mental condition, a petition can be filed with the county courts to appoint a Guardian or Conservator.
