Adams County offers Shooting Sports classes for BB Gun, Air Rifle, Air Pistol, 22 Rifle, 22 Smallbore Pistol and Shotgun. They are held between January – March.
All past and new 4 H members - 4 H age of 8-18 ( age as of December 31) that want to participate in the Adams County 4 H Shooting Sports program are welcome upon completion of requirements.

Requirements
- 4-H Age 8 years old - 18 years old
- Be enrolled in Adams County 4-H via 4-H Online for 2025-2026 year, the possible Shooting Sports project(s) you are interested in selected, and our enrollment fee of $10 paid by Monday, December 15th so that class rosters can be completed for instructors.
- Registration form completed, turned into Office and class fees paid (check or cash only).
- Otherwise, Enrollment and Registration form and payment must be completed before you can attend class.
- All participants must complete a written test and participate in the final shoot (per discipline taking) to receive ribbons and premiums.
Class Information
The 2026 Shooting Sports Class Registration will be held at the Adams County Extension Office Monday, December 1st thru Friday, December 5th during regular Business hours 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
To register for the class, stop by the Adams County Extension Office, fill out and turn in your completed registration form, select your class day and time and pay for your discipline(s).
Class sizes are limited. Can only do 1 discipline per night’s time slot. Each discipline has a $20.00 fee. Additional costs: Archery there is a Facility fee - TBD (paid with registration). Shotgun at each session you will be expected to pay a $5.00 fee per round shot.
We will continue to take registrations until Class Night/Time is full or until 2nd week of classes start.
Parents are requested to attend the first session to meet instructors and hear the Safety policy and class rules with their youth.
Shooting Sports classes for BB Gun, Air Rifle, Air Pistol, 22 Rifle, 22 Smallbore Pistol and Shotgun will be starting the week of January 5, 2026
Shooting Sports Archery Classes will begin the week of January 12, 2026
Archery (4-H age 8-18) will be 8 weeks of classes – Monday or Thursday evenings 5:00 PM or 7:00 PM class times.
BB Gun, Air Rifle or Air Pistol (4-H age 8-18) will be 10 weeks of classes – Monday or Tuesday 7:00 PM class time.
22 Rifle – (4-H age 11-18) will be 9 weeks of classes - Thursday, January 4th 5:30-7:30 PM
22 Smallbore Pistol – (4-H age 11-18) will be 9 weeks of classes - Thursday, January 4th 7:45-9:15 PM
Shotgun – (4-H age 11-18) will be 9 weeks of classes. Parent Meeting (required) – January 10th at 10:00 AM (then practice), Saturday, January 10th 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. When Conference starts will move to Monday or Thursday TBA
