What is Early Childhood? Early Childhood Team (TLC) of Extension Educators is committed to enhancing the capacity of Nebraska’s communities in supporting the healthy growth, development and success of young children. TLC provides research based, responsive, innovative, trusted and easily accessible resources and programming to early childhood professionals and families of children birth to age eight.
Adams County 4-Hers are again participating with the Quilts of Valor in 2024. We also are holding Quilts of Valor sewing dates, if interested please contact the Extension Office. In 2015, Iowa Public Television came to York, Nebraska, and Nebraska State Fair to videotape Nebraska 4-Hers who were working with Quilts of Valor. Several of our 4-Hers, leaders, and Extension Staff were interviewed and showcased. The 100+ minute documentary was shown in Iowa the first part of December 2015. In Nebraska, the Quilts of Valor II Documentary was shown 1st part of March, 2016 on NET(1) and NET Create (3). We will be showcasing the 2023 participating Counties and the 4-Hers who made the Quilts at the Nebraska State Fair in the 4-H Building. Come join us and see all the work that these 4-Hers have done thru the past year.
What are School Education Programs?

These programs are learning experiences offered to students during school hours by local 4-H educators. These programs are designed to enhance the subject matter being studied in the classroom, provide hands-on education, introduce a new topic to students, or spark a new interest!

School Education Programs are a great way to connect and collaborate with your local Extension office and achieve your classroom’s educational goals. Our current programs focus on Career Development, STEM, Healthy Lifestyles, Personal Development and Agricultural Literacy and Environment.

Nebraska’s Natural Resource Districts honor Paul C. Hay and Randy Pryor with Water Conservation Award

Lincoln, Neb. —Nebraska’s Natural Resource Districts have awarded the Outstanding Water Conservation of the Year Award to Paul C. Hay (posthumous), Emeritus Extension Educator, alongside Randy Pryor, also an Emeritus Extension Educator. The two long-time educators were nominated by the Lower Big Blue Natural Resources District (NRD) for their nearly 40 years of service to agricultural sustainability in Southeast Nebraska.

4-H service project will update courthouse garden in 2025

October 4, 2024
The Scotts Bluff County Court House garden in Gering will be undergoing an update in the spring of 2025. Spearheading the update will be the Nebraska Master Gardeners of Scotts Bluff County with funds from A Watchable Wildlife Grant, Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, or Keno Funds.

70th Annual Nebraska State Range Judging Contest Held in Chase County

September 27, 2024

IMPERIAL, Neb. — Chase County hosted the 70th Annual Nebraska State Range Judging Contest, marking a milestone for one of the state’s longest-running educational contests. Organized by the Nebraska Range Judging Committee and local partners from the NRD, NRCS, and Nebraska Extension, six area contests culminated in a state contest aimed at promoting range management and conservation practices among Nebraska’s youth.
