ID Deadline - June 1st
Attention all 12 to 15 year olds who are interested in learning more about Nebraska agriculture. This is the second year for youth in Adams County to 1) learn more about modern agriculture production practices, 2) develop communication skills allowing them to confidently advocate for production agriculture, 3) recognize the diversity of Nebraska agriculture, and 4) given the opportunity to tour a wide variety of operations and gain knowledge from producers across the state. To apply to be part of the second Adams/Webster BRAG Class in 2020, complete and submit the application by Friday, January 3, 2020 to the Extension Office. The application may be found below.
Next Chapter is a college-readiness program delivered through the Nebraska 4-H program that helps students prepare for and succeed in college by providing the skills students need to reach their academic goals. It consists of four Chapters with the intent to complete one chapter a year. By completing Next Chapter and being enrolled in 4-H, you will be pre-admitted to the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
All youth aged 14 and 15 and working on a farm or ranch other than their own MUST be certified through a Hazardous Occupations Course. Successful completion of the course will allow trained youth to operate a tractor over 20 horsepower, or to connect or disconnect an implement or any of its parts to or from a tractor.
