Cat Show Rules
  1. Cats must be brought in carriers. 
  2. Cats must be free of fleas, ticks, ear mites, ring-worm, any internal and external parasite and infectious disease.  Required veterinary checks will be performed on each cat entering the show.  ALL DECISIONS OF SHOW OFFICIALS ARE FINAL. If a cat shows the possibility of being contagious, it will be considered a danger to the other cats in the show and will not be allowed to show.  Cats that pose a danger to others will not be allowed to enter the building.
  3. Cats are required to have current rabies, distemper, panleucopenia, viral rhino tracheitis, calici virus and feline leukemia vaccinations. 

Proof of vaccinations must be sent in with fair registrations using the provided 4-H vaccination form: https://extension.unl.edu/statewide/boxbutte/animal-ownership-affidavits/.   You NEED to turn in this form by July 1 to the Extension Office.

  1. Arrival Time – All exhibitors should first check-in at the registration area. (Sunday, August 2nd by 10:30 AM) The Cat Show will start at 11 AM. 
  2. Exhibitors will be required to show their cats during judging. If an exhibitor has more than one entry in a class, the exhibitor is responsible for finding a current Box Butte County 4-H or FFA member to show one of the animals for them. No parents will be allowed to show for exhibitors.

Cat Showmanship

Combining of Classes - The Superintendent may combine cats and kittens into one class.

Exhibitors are limited to one entry in a showmanship class and cat exhibits will be limited to two animals per exhibitor.

Short hair and long hair will still be shown separately.
