The 2024 Boone and Nance County Communication Contest will be held Wednesday, May 8 at 6:30 pm in Fullerton at the Nance County Extension Office Conference Room. Refer to the fair book for the contest rules.
Length of Prepared Speeches:
- Junior Division (4-H Age 8-10): 2-3 minutes
- Intermediate Division (4-H age 11-13): 3-5 minutes
- Senior Division (4-H age 14-18): 5-8 minutes
Public Service Announcements:
- Theme: 4-H is a Feeling
- Length of PSA: 60 seconds for Junior, Intermediate, and Senior; 30 seconds for Clover Kids.
- Tagline to be included within last 10 seconds: Learn more about the Nebraska Extension 4-H Youth Development Program at 4h.unl.edu.
- May be submitted electronically as a .wav or .mp3 format along with a copy of the PSA text, or may be read at the contest.
Length of Impromptu Speeches:
- Junior Division (4-H age 8-10): 1 1/2 minutes
- Intermediate Division (4-H age 11-13): 3 minutes
- Senior Division (4-H age 14-18): 5 minutes
Video Communication:
- Videos must be 60-90 seconds
- Videos must be submitted electronically as mp4 files along with the registration form.
If you are planning to enter the county Communication Contest, please submit your name, age, category, and title to your local Extension Office by May 6.
