Local producers were recently highlighted in a Nebraska Farmer article titled "Rethinking Optimum Soybean Populations" by Tyler Harris.

"Over the last 10 years, trial data from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln On-Farm Research Network has shown that soybean growers can cut back on their planting populations when planting on 30-inch rows without hurting soybean yields. And although planting populations have been trending downward, Nathan Mueller, Nebraska Extension educator in Dodge and Washington counties, adds recent surveys of over 900 Nebraska producers from 2014 to show there is still room for improvement."

Nebraska Extension is excited to announce that the new National Livestock Quality Assurance Course called Youth for the Quality Care of Animals or (YQCA) is now available to both 4-H and FFA youth.

Area beef producers will want to make plans to attend a Cow-Calf Management Field Day that is scheduled for Saturday, June 17.  According to Nebraska Extension Educator in Cuming County Larry Howard, this Field Day will be hosted by producers in Cuming and Dodge counties.

This training will help your Child Care Program be the best it can be.  Training will focus on useful information and skills that you can put right into action to improve the health of young children. Must attend all 3 of the trainings which are on April 26, May25, and June 21, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Dodge County Extension Office.
