Nebraska 4-H requires all 4‑H/FFA youth ages 8-18 enrolled in livestock projects (beef cattle, dairy cattle, goat, poultry, rabbit, sheep, and swine) to complete an annual livestock quality assurance training through Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) in order to show at the fair.  YQCA is a national multi-species quality assurance program focused on three core pillars: food safety, animal well-being, and character development.  Youth may complete the training in one of three ways: online training course, in person training class, or test out.
Upcoming face-to-face instructor-led trainings are:

Wednesday, May 20 – 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Tuesday, June 9 – 9:00-10:00 a.m.

Herdsmanship

Develop Good Herdsmanship Skills - Herdsmanship reflects the way 4-H members view their exhibits. It is a way exhibitors communicate to the public the pride and the value they place on their animals, cleanliness and neatness.

Herdsmanship is the responsibility of the 4-H member.
