2nd Annual CECO Early Childhood Conference
Saturday, March 8, 2025
Laurel Community Center, Laurel Nebraska
As a professional, investing in yourself through professional development is essential. In Nebraska, child care licensing requires early childhood professionals to complete 12 hours of annual continuing education. Conferences, trainings, workshops, and pursuing higher education are excellent ways to meet these requirements while enhancing your skills and knowledge.
Cedar County Communities for Kids is proud to sponsor the Cedar County (CECO) Early Childhood Conference on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Laurel Community Center. This fast-paced and engaging event is designed for early childhood professionals, classroom teachers, parents, and anyone who works with or cares for young children.
The conference will offer practical strategies to manage challenges, guidance on advocating for positive change, and inspiration to rediscover gratitude and joy in your work and life. Featured sessions include:
- “Challenging Behaviors in Early Childhood” with Hayley Jackson Perez
- “The Power of Influence” presented by Jodi-Renee Girón
- “Mom Was Right!” by Jill Brown
Tours will be available at the newly opened Laurel Building Blocks Early Learning and Family Development Center after the conference. This center, years in the making through the dedicated efforts of countless volunteers, is licensed to serve up to 70 children. It represents just one of the many exciting developments benefiting children, families, and communities in our area!
The CECO conference is made possible through the generous support of local businesses, who recognize the vital role early care and education professionals play in workforce development. These professionals provide high-quality, enriching environments that allow employees to work with peace of mind, knowing their children are well cared for.
The CECO Early Childhood Conference is scheduled from 8:00 am - 1:15 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025. To register go to go.unl.edu/ceco2025. Spaces are limited and registration closes on February 28. For more information, reach out to Jackie Steffen, Nebraska Extension Early Childhood Educator, at jsteffen2@unl.edu or 402-254-6821.
Take advantage of this opportunity to grow professionally and make a positive impact on the lives of young children in our community.
