Instructions for Enrolling in 4-H Online
Visit this website to enroll: https://v2.4honline.com
FOR 2025- 2026:
Each year, 4-H members and leaders must re-enroll in the 4-H program. Access the enrollment form at https://v2.4honline.com If you are a returning member, enter your email address and password. If you have forgotten your password, click “Reset Password” to receive an email with a link to set a new password. Do not create a new profile if you have registered before!
For NEW members! We can’t wait for you to join us! Please visit https://v2.4honline.com. If you have never enrolled in 4-H using 4-H Online, select “Don’t have an account?” Select your state, “Nebraska 4-H Youth Development”, and your county. Each household will have a profile, and individual members will be added under one profile. Choose a club or clubs. If taking a shooting sports project, be sure to select the 4-H Shooting Sports Club as one of your clubs, and then select your project areas.
Projects should be selected if families would like to receive additional information regarding project-specific reminders, such as upcoming deadlines. If you forget to choose a project, no worries, you can still take exhibits from any project area to the fair.
If enrolling in Horse and Shooting Sports, you are required to select these projects due to the consent forms that are required. The goal is to enroll as a 4-H member now. Then when you turn in your fair entries in June, you can add all the exhibits you want.
If your 4-Her plans to attend 4-H camp or participate in any state or national events, you must complete the health section. All other 4-Hers may skip over the health information. Then complete the consent section.

Steps to Enroll a New Member
If you are enrolling in 4-H for the first time, you must contact your local Extension office before beginning the 4-H Online enrollment process.
Enrollment is not required for many 4-H events and opportunities, but 4-H Club and Independent Members ages 8 - 18 on January 1 of the current year are required to enroll through 4-H Online. Youth ages 5 - 7 on January 1 of the current year may enroll as Clover Kids.
There is no fee for officially enrolling as a Nebraska 4-H member. However, counties or clubs may require enrollment fees.
While enrollment is open year-round, youth interested in participating in their county fair or the Nebraska State Fair must complete enrollment by June 15. Some counties may implement earlier deadlines for other programs, events, or opportunities.
Starting in 2024, project selection will be optional, with the exception of the horse and shooting sports (see note below). Projects should be selected if families would like to receive additional information regarding project-specific reminders, such as upcoming deadlines. If you forget to choose a project, no worries, you can still take exhibits from any project area to the fair. By successfully completing the 4-H member enrollment by June 15, youth will be eligible to participate and exhibit in any project area, any contest, their county fair, and the Nebraska State Fair. Please note:
• Youth are only eligible to exhibit in a project area or contest in a single county.
• Horse or shooting sports projects will continue to require project enrollment due to the parental consent required for participation.
Please contact your local Extension office for local fees, deadlines, and projects.

If you have forgotten your password select "I forgot my password" and a new one will be emailed to you. Select "Login" once you have entered your information.
Step Two: Re-Enroll Youth
Once you have logged in, you will be taken to your family home page. From here you will be able to edit family information, enroll existing members into the new program year, or add members of your family to your profile.
To enroll an existing youth, select the "Enroll Now" in the right-hand column next to their name.

School information is required in the system, but if you do not see your school listed, you can add your own.
It is also required that you enter the year of graduation for the youth.

The next page will include our Health Form. The health form is optional, except for one question regarding any life-threatening allergies. This question is near the end of the page immediately before the Health Form Consent. However, if the 4-H member goes to a 4-H Camp or participates in state or national events, completion of the health form is required.
Please note that some special interest 4-H Clubs do require members to complete the health form. Be sure to check with your Club leader.

You will receive a confirmation email when the registration has been approved.

Activity Worker Guidelines Review 4-H Code of Conduct
Changes in this process for 2025 will be that:
- A new vendor, Sterling Volunteers, will do complete criminal background checks on all direct volunteers.
- DHHS will no longer do the checks, so everyone must participate in the screening beginning in 2024-2025.
- Turnaround time will be 24 -48 hours in most cases.
- The re-screening must be completed every five years, based on anniversary date of the original screening.
- One last change is that the cost is now $16 to be paid online.
Adults serving as Direct Volunteers (such as a 4-H Club Project Leader or 4-H Club Organizational Leader) must enroll through 4-H Online. Returning volunteers will need to call the Extension Office at 402-395-2158 before you begin and have your birth date updated so that the date will match when you do the volunteer screening. Currently in 4-H Online, it may be “1-1-1900”.
Adult volunteers enrolling for the first time need to create a new Family Profile.
Adults serving as returning direct volunteers or that already have children enrolled in 4-H should use their existing family profile and add themselves as a new "Adult Member".
Go to https://v2.4honline.com
Step 1: Create a Family Profile
Click "Don't have an account?" if you have never enrolled in 4-H before using 4-H Online.
Select "Nebraska" from the drop-down menu. Select your county from the drop-down menu. (The email address will be used as the user/access id. Enter an email address you use and a password you will
remember. There will be an option later in enrollment to add additional email addresses.) Please enter the household "Last Name". Select "Create Login".
(If you have an account for your family in 4-H Online, enter the login information for your existing account.)
Step 2: Enter Family Profile Information
Complete the required profile information.
Step 3: Add Adults to the Family Profile
You may now add the adult volunteers in your household. Select "Add Member". Now enter information for one specific individual in the household.
The asterisk areas are required. All other fields are optional.
Step 4: Add Volunteer Enrollment
Click Select Volunteer Types to indicate how you are planning to participate in the program throughout the year.
Returning 4-H Council members should choose Program Volunteer and County Volunteer.
*If you are affiliated with a club, you will choose Club Volunteer, then either Organizational Leader or Project Leader. Also choose Project Volunteer, then Project Leader.
Step 5: Add a club & Projects
You will be prompted to select projects. Choose the ones that begin with "Adult" or "Volunteer".
Step 6 : Consent forms
Please sign all consent forms on this page.
Step 7: Confirmation and Submit Enrollment
If all information looks correct, please submit your enrollment. You will then be prompted to move to the next step, which is our screening process.
Please note that until your enrollment has been accepted and all screening pieces are complete, you will not be considered an active volunteer.
Step 8: Volunteer Screening
Once you click on “Submit” you will be directed to the Screening site. All direct volunteers with Nebraska 4-H are required to complete a background check through Sterling volunteers. On the prompted volunteer screening form, you will be asked to provide a few details about yourself that are the same as what you used to sign in to 4-H Online.
Then you will create an account.
Then the Background Check begins.
The Cost is $16.00 plus $1.00 for source fees, to be paid by credit card online. Results will be emailed to you within 24-48 hours in most cases. This screening will need to be repeated every 5 years.
Step 9: Volunteer orientation
The Nebraska 4-H Volunteer Orientation serves as an introduction to the 4-H Youth Development program in Nebraska. The orientation covers a variety of foundational and essential topics. All new volunteers serving in direct roles, such as club leader, project leader, or workshop presenter, are required to complete the orientation. Volunteers are also required to complete the orientation as part of the re-screening process every five years.
The Volunteer Orientation is found at https://go.unl.edu/6que
There are six topics. Each topic includes a 4-10 minute video followed by several knowledge check questions. The entire orientation should take approximately 45 minutes and does not need to be completed in one session. Upon completion, you will receive a confirmation email. An email will also be sent to the Extension Office notifying us when you have completed the orientation.
