General Information:
- Each rope exhibit must be mounted on a board 3/8" thick x 24" high x 32" wide.
- For items on demo-boards use instructions found in the 4-H Rope Manual, EC70179.
- Mount the knots in the same position as shown in the 4-H Rope Manual.
- Either manila or synthetic rope may be used.
- When halters are exhibited, the tie rope, plus a required second piece of rope must show any three of the following items:
- End whipping
- Eye splice
- Crown splice
- Rosebud knot
- Matthew Walker knot
- Diamond knot
Division 990 – Rope (Not State Fair Eligible)
H990001 Rope Display – at least 10 and not more than 12 knots, hitches and splices (include two splices) made of 3/8” rope.
H990002 Single Loop or Double Loop Halter – cattle and horse use 5/8” or ¾” rope. See above requirements for halter exhibits.
H990003 Single Loop or Double Loop Halter – sheep and goats use 3/8” rope. See above requirements for halter exhibits.
H990004 Braided reins, bridles, halters, etc.
