General Rules
- 4-Hers are limited to one entry per class.
- No Music Exhibits are eligible for the State Fair. County Contest only.
- Language, gestures and content must be in good taste and suitable for audiences of ALL ages. Profane or obscene behavior, language, gestures, and other vulgar acts are not tolerated and will result in disqualification.
- Props (if any) should be set up immediately before the performance and taken down immediately after. For safety’s sake, performers may not throw items of any kind into the audience.
- Additionally, performers cannot leap or jump from stage. Stairs or a designated exit must be used for entering or exiting the performance area.
- Performers may bring a CD or use a piano or instrumental accompanist to accompany their performance. CDs must be the album itself and a note of which track that is to be used should accompany the CD, along with the performers’ name so the CD can be safely returned.
- Juniors are ages 8-11. Seniors are ages 12-18 (as of January 1 of the current year).
- A group can consist of mixed ages. If Juniors and Seniors are performing as a group, they must compete at the Senior level.
- An entry form (available from the online Fairbook or at the Extension Office) must be turned in with your fair entries by July 1.
- All members of the group must register for this contest
Music Contest
Musical performance can be vocal or instrumental.
A piano, at least one microphone, and a CD player will be provided.
