Agriculture is so vital to Nebraska, and we love sharing the importance with young people in our region. On September 25, 2024, approximately 255 third and fourth graders from schools in four counties came to the SE NE Agriculture Literacy Festival in Humboldt, to learn about agriculture in Nebraska and nationwide. Topics included corn production, sugar beet production, sheep production, poultry production, beef production and beef byproducts and the Husker Mobile Beef Lab, swine production, pollinators, animal nutrition, water and the importance it plays in agriculture, ag safety, ag careers, and drone technologies used in agriculture. It was a jam packed, fun day!
Thank you to all the presenters, volunteers, and donors who helped make this day possible…Nebraska Extension professionals, Bluff Valley Farms; Nebraska Pork Producers, Nemaha NRD, CMC, Ag Partners, Bruna Implement, HTRS FFA Chapter, and Farm Credit! We appreciate you!
Thank you to each of the schools, teachers, and administration; thank you for recognizing the value of agriculture and providing your students with this opportunity!
