4-H Extension Educator, Lexington, NE
Please join us in welcoming Sarah Fanning to Nebraska Extension! Sarah is the new 4-H Extension Educator for Dawson and Custer Counties based in Lexington, NE. We are so glad that they are here. You can reach out to Sarah at sfanning3@unl.edu.

My name is Sarah Fanning and I just moved from Cheyenne, WY. I spent the last 9 years in Wyoming, including many years spent at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. I received my Bachelors in Geology and a Graduate Certificate in Education from UW. I was working on an MS in Natural Science with a focus in Education at UW but will be transferring to UNL this fall to finish up, Go Big Red! I have had many interesting jobs during my time in Wyoming which varied from surveying trees and sagebrush, to digging up fossils, and being a ranger with the National Park Service. For the past three years, I have been a middle school teacher in Riverton and Cheyenne, WY. In these positions, I have taught Life and Earth Science, Engineering, Health, Careers, and a class of my own invention: Wyoming Outdoors. I have three crazy dogs that take up most of my time outside of work. I am an avid runner, hiker, and reader. I’m excited to explore the natural beauty of Nebraska and all that it has to offer!
Welcome Talon Mues
Welcome Talon Mues
Water & Cropping Systems, Extension Instructor

Hi all! My name is Talon Mues. I am the new Extension Instructor for Dawson, Buffalo, and Hall Counties. My main office is in Lexington, NE. I am so excited to join the extension team officially. I have interacted with many other Water & Cropping Systems Educators for the last two years as a Research Technician and master’s student in Dr. Tamra Jackson-Ziems’ Plant Pathology Lab. My interactions with extension personnel while working in the lab made me want to join Extension. I also had a grandfather, Noel Mues, who was an educator in Furnas County for 36 years. My background is focused on irrigated corn and soybean production, focusing on corn diseases. I can’t wait to meet all of you!
