National 4-H week is October 4, through October 10, 2026. 4-H provides positive youth development programming across the United States. When bringing all 4-H’ers together, we recognize 6 million youth members, more than 3,300 Extension educators, 500,000 volunteers and 35 million alumni to celebrate the incredible impact of 4-H and prepare young people to be Beyond Ready for life and careers.
4-H programming has a positive impact on young people.
- 4-H’ers are 40% more likely than other youth to pursue a college degree
- 2X more likely to obtain vocational or technical training
- 4-H’ers feel more confident in reaching important life goals like owning a home and being debt-free and starting a business
- 2X more likely to have the goal of being a leader
Through our Buffalo County 4-H program, 4-H is shaping the next generation of Beyond Ready leaders. We invite everyone to join the celebration as we Go Green on Monday, October 5th. You can do this a number of ways. Simply wearing green throughout the day to show your 4-H spirit. You can decorate your office or classroom or even fill your candy dish with your favorite green candy.
On Thursday, October 8th, 4-H supporters across the Nation will be sharing their gratitude on Thankful Thursday. Let’s shine a light on all of the mentors, educators, and volunteers who are making positive impacts on people’s lives in 4-H. Make sure to share with those you are thankful for how they are making a difference. The encouragement, guidance, and support help young people build confidence, discover new passions, and become #4HBeyondReady.
