- 4-H Horse Stampede - offers a variety of 4-H horse contests that do not require live animals, including a public speaking, demonstration, quiz bowl, art, & photography contests. The stampede is held at UNL Animal Science Complex in Lincoln on Saturday, April 25, & Sunday, April 26th, 2026. Entries must be submitted online by Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Entries for 2026 utilize 4-H online. Login to your account & click on the events tab, then select the 2026 Horse Stampede Event. Or utilize the following link to register (be sure to utilize the same email account used when enrolling in4-H online.
- Horse level testing in order to go to State you must have passed Level I & II. Blaire Speck will be giving the level testing for our area youth. If you are registered for Horse & want to participate in our 4-H Horse Show July 30th you must attend the level testing she is providing.

Market Weigh in Day (for livestock auction for BKR area youth) Adam & Jenessa Sawyers ranch south of Bassett on April 19th 1 to 2 p.m. will be providing this service for our youth exhibitors.
AKSARBEN exhibitors will be ordering & purchasing their own DNA envelopes through ARSARBEN website https://aksarbenstockshow.com/ this year. They are now separate envelopes from the livestock show
Livestock Premise ID - all 4-H & FFA market animals (beef, swine, sheep, & goat) with an 840 EID tag are required to have a Premises ID. A Premise ID can be obtained through the NE Dept. of Agriculture & should correlate to the location in which livestock are kept/housed permanently.
- only one Premise ID is necessary for a family with multiple exhibitors (provided livestock are housed at the same location)
- only one Premise ID is necessary for an exhibitor that shows multiple species (provided livestock is housed at the same location)
- any exhibitor that has completed Quality Assurance or YQCA & exhibited an animal with an 840 EID tag at the Fair will have a Premise ID

NE State Fair Show Stock Manager - Nomination Process - https://showstockmgr.com/ Is now open for State FAir Exhibitors to nominate animals for State Fair. State Fair Livestock dual Eligibilty - females may be eligible as both market & breeding, provided a DNA envelope with hair samples has been submitted to the extension office and the family has completed the online nomination for both market & breeding along with payment by June 15. Families will need to decide if the animal will be shown in market or breeding classes by August 10.
