EXOTIC LIVESTOCK RULES AND GUIDELINES: 

  1. General Animal Science Rules apply to this Department.
  2. Any class with less than 5 entries will be combined into 1 class.
  3. All Exotic Animals must have official 4-H ownership affidavits on file for the current year.
  4. If a judge from another species does not feel comfortable evaluating these exhibits, Interview Judging will be utilized. Exhibitors will be asked questions about production, selection, grooming, handling, care, nutrition, age, sex, and other pertinent items regarding care and management of this exhibit.
  5. Entries in the Exotic Livestock Department are judged on the overall health and appearance of the animal, and the4-H member's presentation and knowledge of the animal; not judged according to breed standards. Mixed breed animals can be entered, and identification is not required.
  6. Check-In and Show: Tuesday, July 28, check in at 12:30 p.m. Show will follow Companion Animal Show.
