Keith-Arthur Nebraska Extension is seeking an Office Manager/4-H Assistant.

Open enrollment/ kickoff meeting for the Platte Valley Sharp Shooters 4-H Club will be held January 9th 6:00-7:00 PM at the Keith County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall.

All youth 8 years and older who are interested in learning to shoot BB Gun and Air Rifle or are returning club members are encouraged to attend. Experience is not required and equipment is provided by the club.

These educational programs, delivered via a variety of methods, are offered through a federal, state and county partnership arrangement. Our objective is to provide programs and other educational resources locally.

Extension home study course prepares drone pilots for exam

Lincoln, Neb. — Members of the public interested in earning a a Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate to fly unmanned aircraft (drones) for commercial purposes, are encouraged to refer to a new home study course offered by Nebraska Extension. This home study course focuses on the knowledge needed to successfully pass the computer-based Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) exam to earn a Remote Pilot certificate.

Department of Agricultural Economics presents annual awards

Lincoln, Neb. — In April, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Agricultural Economics awarded Jay Rempe and the late Clayton Yeutter with 2017 Outstanding Alumni Awards. The Nebraska Bankers Association received the 2017 Outstanding Service Award.
