The Research Project Coordinator will play a critical role in the livestock animal research that occurs at the Gudmundsen Sandhills Laboratory located in the heart of the Nebraska Sandhills. This position will work with faculty researchers and staff to design and implement cattle and range management research methodologies to meet the needs of specific research projects. Position will monitor the well-being of cattle, diagnose and treat illnesses, and assist cows and calves at calving; ensuring that IACUC protocols are followed. Position will provide expertise on the installation and maintenance of precision animal management equipment systems. Position has overall responsibility for collection and management of GSL database that is used by a variety of researchers across the state. Bachelor’s degree in animal science, range management, or related field plus three years of ranch or related experience required. Master's degree preferred.
